My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult consists of Groovie Mann (Frankie Nardiello), Buzz McCoy (Marston Daley), and whatever collection of goofballs and weirdos happen to be playing with them at the time.
Released in 1990, 'Confessions Of A Knife' is their second studio album.
Rahsaan Roland Kirk was a multi-instrumentalist who played saxophone, clarinet, oboe and English horn, flute, harmonica, trumpet, keyboards and percussion, as well as several instruments that he modified or invented. For example, he would often play a trumpet with a saxophone mouthpiece. He also invented a mouthpiece that allowed him to play three saxophones at the same time.
As a fan of Mr. Kirk, I'm in good company. Others who have cited him as an influence includes Ian Anderson, Eric Burdon, Jimi Hendrix, Derek Trucks, Paul Weller and Frank Zappa.
'I Talk With The Spirits' was released in 1965 and showcases Mr. Kirk's mastery of the flute. He is also listed as playing a music box and a cuckoo clock. Using every day items as instruments was another one of his talents.
'Shiny Beast (Bat Chain Puller)' is the tenth studio album by Captain Beefheart and The Magic Band. The original 'Bat Chain Puller' was recorded in 1976, but a feud over money led to the master tapes being withheld, so the Captain recorded some of the songs over again, added a few new songs, and released it in 1978 as 'Shiny Beast (Bat Chain Puller)'.
