In 1985, a group of uptight political wives decided to do something about raunchy Rock 'N Roll songs. They called themselves the Parents Music Resource Center (PMRC), and pushed a rating systems that could be used to censor what teens were allowed to hear. Needless to say, quite a few freedom-loving artists were not amused. They responded with songs that were critical of censorship in general and the PMRC in particular.
