Truth or Dare

Last night we inadvertantly got lead down a path of lies about lying liars who tell lies (no, it wasn't a trump thread). Tonight, let's search for a little truth, shall we?

Miami

With a sound that was described as "Psychobilly Roots Punk Blues", The Gun Club was Jeffrey Lee Pierce and whoever else just happened to be in the band.

Released in 1982, 'Miami' was their second album.

You can also find the full album here.

Did You Think We Forgot?

Tonight I'm gonna ask you to play a tune that made a difference in your life personally.

I'll start off with the first song I ever played drums on that made it to record.

I might also remind you that today is Friday the 17th, so you might want to close your windows and lock your doors.

There WAS a Plan

I had a plan for tonight, but can't seem to remember the name of the tune for the opening video to celebrate the introduction of the 45 RPM record to the industry, so I'm just gonna throw some shit at the wall and see what sticks. If it comes to me, I'll include it here.

Window to the Soul?

The Eyelady (Mrs. 17) spent all day photograghing people's pupils. I wonder what she learned.

The Blues Ain't Nothing

Born in Louisiana and raised in Texas, Clarence 'Gatemouth' Brown was a multi-instrumentalist, playing guitar, violin and viola, mandolin, harmonica, piano and drums.  To say he played the Blues doesn't do him justice, for Mr. Brown was no purist.  Western Swing, Country, Cajun, Rhythm & Blues and Rock 'N Roll were also a part of his repertoire.

'The Blues Ain't Nothing' was recorded in Paris, France in 1971 and released in 1972.
