Springtime On The Ol' Farmstead

Been busy lately.  Finding the time to get everything done is a challenge.  And just when I think that I might get caught up, I'll notice something else that needs to get done.  Sleep is also hard to come by right now.  This time of the year, it seems like I live in the barn, doing checks every two or three hours just in case a doe starts kidding and runs into trouble.  Usually they don't need help, but every now and then I'll have to go in and work a kid out.  There have been five kids born so far, with three, maybe four more does due to deliver over the next three weeks.

Goslings are starting to hatch too.  So far I have four healthy little fuzzballs.  And did I mention the ducklings?  Instead of hatching ducks this year, I decided to add some new genes to my flock and bought 20 ducklings in March.  Yesterday, they were introduced to the great outdoors for the first time.  This included introducing them to the pond.  Watching ducklings discover the joys of a pond is always a pleasure.

Meanwhile, I've been hauling manure to my vegetable gardens and starting to prepare the soil.  If everything goes as planned, I should be able to get to my berry patch and grapes next week.  Then maybe, just maybe, I'll start working on my flower beds.

It's a good way to live.

For this, among many other things.

On April 27th, 2005 George W. Bush signed into law a ruling that anyone pirating music or films on the internet could face up to three years in jail.

Fuck you, Junior. If it's in the sky and I can grab it...it's mine.

The Disinformation Age

Our cousins the apes are just now shuffling into the Stone Age it took us forever to get out of but we climbed up the technology tree faster than a spider monkey on meth, through the Bronze Age and Iron Age and Industrial Age until the 1990's, when we realized that computers were going to be bigger than the wheel. Bigger than fire. And like that, we entered the Information Age!

And like that, it was over!

Little did any of us suspect, although all of us should have known, that given an unprecedented and ubiquitous technology that lets us communicate more than we ever thought possible with anyone, anywhere, instantly, that the entire species would use it to lie to each other. The Information Age came and went in a flash. We find ourselves in a new age.

The Disinformation Age.

In this thread NO TRUTH IS ALLOWED! The general music theme should be about deception but, and this is the part that should be fun, every word you type has to be total bullshit, just like the rest of the internet!

Songs Your Mother Loved

Have you ever met one of those people who won't stop playing a harmonica once they start? On the sidewalk outside a restaurant, or in the parking lot of a bank? They just play and play and play no matter how hard you tug on them or how many people tell them to stop? On and on they play, until the police come and physically take it out of their mouth? Threaten them with arrest?

Momma was one of them.

Let's hear the songs your mother loved.

It's Getting To Be That Time Of Year...

Pay up or go to jail.  Those bombs don't pay for themselves.

Recruitment Drive?

Hans,

The back room says we have people from all over the world looking in on us.
They'll come in or they won't.

I've looked over many music threads and have decided not to post there, whether it be because "I don't belong to their clique", or because I just didn't give a fuck.

Some people just wanna hear what we post.

Some people wanna post but are afraid that their posts might expose them.

Hans, I've invited people here, you've invited people here.

I'm disappointed when someone I ask to join us doesn't show up (Tiki comes to mind)

So here it is...All you Lurkers...Give us a yell. Just say "hi".

Another Trip Down Memory Lane

It's hard to believe that The Clash released their first album forty-one years ago.  It was released in the UK and only available as an import in the USA because CBS records decided it wasn't "radio friendly".  CBS did finally release it two years later, but only after some tracks were removed and others were added.

This is one of the tracks that was removed from the American release...

This is one of the tracks that was added to the American release...

This is one of the tracks that was on both releases...

Tibby

Tibby was an asshole, but he left me some tunes. Most of it was shit, but I pulled a few nuggets out. Get it...nuggets? I kill me.
