For Your Pleasure

Back in the day when most American cities had at least one decent record store, I use to find some of the more interesting albums in bargain bins.  One of those albums was 'For Your Pleasure'.   It was my introduction to Roxy Music.

With a sound that blended art rock futurism with a campy silver screen nostalgia, I fell in love with the album and the band at first listen.  Bryan Ferry is one of the more debonair frontmen; sort of the Cary Grant of Rock 'N Roll.  Add Phil Manzanera on guitar, Andy Mackay on saxophone and oboe, Paul Thompson on drums, and some guy named Brian Eno on synthesizer, and what you end up with is a wild and wicked magic mixed with a heaping spoonful of goofy.
