Black Market

One of my favorite saxophonists is Wayne Shorter.  He began his career playing with Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers, then went on to join Miles Davis's Second Great Quintet.  He has also worked as a solo artist, and as a sideman for such musicians as Herbie Hancock, McCoy Tyner, Freddie Hubbard, Lee Morgan, Joni Mitchell, Carlos Santana and Steely Dan.  In 1971, he founded the Jazz-Fusion band, Weather Report, along with Joe Zawinul and Miroslav Vitouš.

Today is Mr. Shorter's 85th birthday.  Thought I'd pay pay tribute to him by featuring an album by Weather Report.
