Where There's Smoke...

On this day in 1971, Frank Zappa and The Mother's Of Invention played a concert at the Montreaux Casino in Switzerland.  Also in Montreaux on that day were Deep Purple, who were planning to record an album at the entertainment complex that was a part of the Montreaux Casino, using a mobile studio that belonged to The Rolling Stones.

During the Zappa and The Mothers show, some moron shot off a flare gun in the theater, which started a fire that burned down the entire entertainment complex and destroyed all the Mothers' equipment. The fire also inspired one of the best damn Rock 'N Roll songs.

The title refers to the reflection of the fire on the waters of Lake Geneva.
